We believe a healthy child is better able to reach their full potential when they have access to the right resources and programs to reach developmental milestones. We offer early intervention services and support to families through a number of programs.
Developmental Screening
Developmental Screening tools support the purpose of making sure that a child is on the right developmental path. The Early Learning Coalition of Northwest Florida uses a developmental screening tool called the Ages and Stages Questionnaire, Third Edition (ASQ-3). This tool screens development in 5 areas: communication, gross motor, fine motor, problem-solving and personal-social skills. While this screening tool is developed with the intention of it being completed by the parent, child care educators can also use this screening to better understand the development of the children in their classrooms.
If the screening results indicate a potential delay, a Coalition team member may recommend a referral for further testing. These referrals may be to Child Find (Early Steps and FDLRS) or other community resources that can assist with the child’s development. No matter the program, a Coalition team member will personally discuss the referral with you and assist you with the referral process if needed.
In addition, a Child Support Plan (CSP) may created for the child’s care provider. The CSP provides the care provider with activities to promote development in the areas where the child scored either monitoring or concern.

Warmline
Warmline Services are available to any child aged birth to five years old in a child care setting contracted with ELCNWF. The Warmline is a request for a Child Services Specialist with ELCNWF to come out to the center and conduct an observation on a child due to developmental and/or social and emotional delays.
